It seems there is a company called Xpango that offers free Nintendo Wii consoles along with some other interesting things like iPhones, iPods and other consoles. Of course you'll have to do something in order to get a free console from them, but the good news is that the process seems relatively simple and quick...

Xpango uses a unique Credit system to reward its users with Free Gaming Consoles, Mobile Phones and MP3 Players. In order to receive a free Nintendo Wii or other gadget you have to get a given number of credits that you'll then exchange for the console or the gift you've selected to receive. For example, for a Nintendo Wii console you'll have to get 19 Credits and for an 8GB iPhone the credits will go up to 35, but don't worry, you can easily accumulate the points you need.

There are several ways you can get the 19 Credits you need for the Nintendo Wii:

1. By Participating in Xpango's Offers.
This means you have to register for some service that you may find interesting or useful. Most offers reward you with 1 to 4 Credits for each participation, with some offering up to 6 Credits. And the best of all is that the majority of offers are absolutely FREE to participate in, meaning you can gain multiple Credits at no cost. That is the best way of starting to accumulate more Credits quick and easy in order to get your free Nintendo Wii or other gadget.

2. By Referring your Friends.
You can tell you friends about Xpango and get Credits, it is so simple. You'll receive a Credit every time a person you refer registers and activates their Xpango account (activation can be from your friend completing an Xpango offer or purchasing a product). This way you can receive unlimited Credits by telling your friends about Xpango and getting them interested in this service. Just tell all of your friends and let them help you get your Nintendo Wii, while at the same time they will get on the way of receiving a gadget they want for free.

3. By Purchasing a Mobile Accessory / Clix Package.
This is the least interesting way, because you'll have to really spend some money in order to gain Credits and your idea is probably getting the console absolutely free of charge. Nevertheless by buying a relatively cheap mobile accessory you can gain 1 Credit. Also buying a Clix Package means you are paying for an advertising banner that can help you refer more people and thus increase your Credits. When you buy Clix Package you get 1 Credit and up to 250-450 people that may become your referrals, so even if only 10% of them get you a Credit you can still receive your free Ninteno Wii.

The best way in gaining enough Credits to receive your Nintendo Wii is to combine all the tree ways so you can earn enough credits in no time at all. And after you get your Nintendo Wii console you can continue to earn more credits for another free gift like a Playstation 3, XBox 360 or an iPhone or some other gadget.

- Click here to sign-up now for your Free Nintendo Wii Console...

Some users have noticed that after updating their console with the latest official firmware version 3.0 some USB keyboards started working with the Wii. Unfortunately no official keyboard support was announced by Nintendo and of course you can't use the keyboard in any screens requiring you to enter some text. Unfortunately the USB keyboard support doesn't work in the Internet Channel and that is a place that definitely will benefit form keyboard support. Actually Nintendo may be planning about a new official peripheral for the console, for example a white wireless USB keyboard...

Here is a list of keyboards reported to be working with the Wii:
- Logitech EX110
- Logitech LX300
- Logitech MX3200
- Logitech S510
- Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000
- Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3000

If you try your wireless or wired USB keyboard on the Wii and it works or doesn't work please report that to us, so we can update the list of compatible devices.

However, new-generation modchips capable of working with the revised Wii consoles may become available in less than a month, according to retail channels in Taiwan.

The new Wiis, which are part of new shipments of the console, have an altered circuit layout that makes modification more difficult than in earlier versions. Users attempting to mod the new consoles using current modchips are very likely to damage the system, the sources pointed out.

In view of past instances where Nintendo and other games console makers including Microsoft and Sony have revised the circuitry of their consoles in attempts to to disable modchips, it is a logical expectation that a more advanced modchip specifically for the new Wii revision will be available in less than a month, the sources indicated.

Some providers of Wii modification services in Taiwan think Nintendo could adopt BGA (ball grid array) IC packaging to prolong the time needed by hackers to develop new modchips to at least four months. The longer waiting time would likely reduce the willingness of some users to modify the consoles, the sources noted.
